Sensorial shopping: Experiences & senses
The project, Sensorial Shopping, aims to develop new, sensorial experiences in the shops. In cooperation with the consultancy, NyX, Knowledge Centre for Design & Business has created the concept and the settings for bringing together creative and commercial players to create innovative, aesthetic settings for shopping.
When art and creativity are given the opportunity to ask untraditional and challenging questions to the commercial, and get a reply, new and innovative results are created. In Sensorial Shopping, the art commune, Bureau Detours, represents creativity and Bibi Chemnitz, Bruuns Bazaar, and Designa are the participating retailers in the project. Furthermore, the consultancy company, NyX, has experience with working with interdisciplinary processes.
Sensorial Shopping results in tailored experiences and installations presented in the three shops in November 2011. The results of the process are based on the wishes and identity of the shops and thereby the experiences are an expression of the company’s brand. The aim is to create customer involvement through the senses, and thereby create a basis for dialogue between people.
Additionally, the creative processes and the experience dimensions in the shops will create the basis for the content of the following seminars, workshops, and further dialogue between Knowledge Centre for Design & Business, TEKO, VIA University College and the retail industry at large. Thus, the new knowledge area will be available to everybody interested. Besides, it will still possible to hire Knowledge Centre for Design & Business to develop individual processes.
